New Norwich Terrier CC record holder

The Norwich Terrier CC record fell at LKA when Ch Ragus Rings True won his 18th CC. At two years two months Trueman must be one of the youngest dogs to achieve this in a long-established breed.
Owned and bred by Lesley Crawley, he is a son of the famous show/brood bitch Ch/Sw Ch Ragus Truly Unruly who had won BIS at National Terrier and produced four champions in one litter before going, in whelp, to Renée Sporre-Willes in Sweden.
That litter produced a UK champion and she later came home in whelp to Sw Ch Cobby’s Famous Rebel. The result was Trueman who won four CCs, a group 3 and BIS at the Norwich Terrier Club celebration show while still a puppy. He gained his title at LKA last year and won the group.
Successes in 2008 included BOB at Crufts, BIS at National Terrier, WELKS and Southern Counties, RBIS at the National, and nine groups, eight of them consecutively, making him the year’s top terrier.
At LKA he was group 3 behind two dogs from the kennel of Judy Averis who had given him his first group here last year.
The previous record holder was his ancestor Ch Elve The Sorcerer, handled by Lesley and owned and bred by her husband Michael Crawley.

Pointer wins AKC National

The American Kennel Club/Eukanuba National Championship was topped by the Pointer, Ch Cookieland Seasyde Hollyberry, handled by Michael Scott for Sean and Tammy McCarthy and Helyne Medeiros. She is one of two dogs in close contention for the US’ Top Dog position this year, and has 95 BIS awards. Judge here was Dr Robert Smith.
